To install the Ancestry Image Viewer:
  1. Click on the button below and save MFImgVwr.zip to your desktop or another easily found location.
  2. Extract the files inside MFImgVwr.zip, to the Windows system directory. If the computer you're extracting to previously had the Image Viewer installed, you will need to replace the old versions of these files with those in MFImgVwr.zip.
    • On Windows 98 or ME, extract to the C:\WINDOWS\system directory.
    • On NT-based systems or Windows 2000, extract to the C:\WINNT\system32 directory.
    • On Windows XP or 2003 Server, extract to the C:\WINDOWS\system32 directory.
  3. Using the Command Prompt (Start>All Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt), navigate to the Windows system directory listed above and type "regsvr32 mfimgvwr.ocx".
The Ancestry Image Viewer is now installed - navigate in Internet Explorer to an image on Ancestry and enjoy the improved viewing experience!
