About Allier, France, Deaths, 1598-1909

This data collection contains death records from the departement of Allier for the years 1598-1909. The records were compiled from original vital records by members of the Association Allier Généalogie in Vichy, France. The original records used to compile this database were most likely civil registration records for deaths occurring between 1792 and 1909 (since civil registration began in 1792), and from church records for entries dating before 1792. Please contact the Assocation Allier Généalogie for original source information. Be sure to provide them the entire death record when inquiring about a source.

Information listed in this database includes:

  • Death date
  • Name of deceased
  • Age at time of death
  • Names of father and mother
  • Ages, death dates or “+” (to indicate deceased) for father and mother
  • Names, ages, and residences of witnesses
  • Notes

The notes or comments field consists of additional information about the individual that the compilers of the database thought were important. For example, you may see an “x”, denoting that the person was “married”, followed by the name of that person’s spouse. Likewise, you may also see a “+” which means “deceased”, followed by their death date.
