About New England History

This database contains all five volumes of John Palfrey's History of New England series. The first volume discusses the settlement of New England, which constitutes the arrival of the colonists and the establishment of the social system. Volume two deals with the Confederacy of the four New England Colonies, while volume three contains information on New England's final relations with the Stuart kings. Volume four provides details on the progress of the reigns of King William the Third and Queen Anne and finally, volume five is comprised of history relating to the progress under the first two Hanoverian kings. This work is a good source of historical information about New England and would be useful to any student of history interested in this area. While this database probably won't provide you with any vital data about your ancestors, you will learn more about the time and place in which they lived, which in turn will help you put your ancestors into a historical context.
