Missouri History, 1908

This database contains a history of the state of Missouri, published in 1908. It was the intent of the author to collect and embody in this work every important fact relating to the early history of the state (p. viii). Topics covered in this work vary from prehistoric remains, to local Indian tribes, to early settlements and settlers. The author has also provided many biographical sketches and portraits (when obtainable) of the distinguished and prominent men of colonial and territorial Missouri.

Historical works such as this contain valuable information that can be a great addition to your genealogical research. Although historical works will generally not mention your ancestors specifically, they do provide information on the time and place in which your ancestors lived, which in turn will help you place your ancestors in a historical context.
